If we do get an analysis of the 9.72 (or better after Rieti this week) it will be interesting to compare.
His 9.74 had 3 consecutive 0.83s in it according to PJ's analysis. I think he's faster this year than last year.

Lets see what Franno does in response to what we have seen this season, will we see Powell running 200m? more intense speed training? I'm sure I saw Bolt almost stumble on his 3rd step, anybody else see that from the slow motion front view?

Good observation. His body definitely dropped on the third step in what looked like some recovery to a mis-step. Also, it looked like Usain was breathing rapidly, or was that him exhaling every time he took a step with his right leg for the 2nd half of the race?

As Usain said "that track was quiiiiiiiiiiiick!"... So would Asafa be down .80-.82 on that track in his current form???

I was so focused on Bolt's "bad" start that I didn't really notice the REAL bad start by Martina between Bolt and Powell...talk about one- upmanship.

Are there technical aspects of Powell at top speed that might get looked at going into next year. I don't know whether it is just the SE (although it has to be a major factor), but a tension in his stride over the final 10-20m that looks like he is having a difficult time relaxing. It looks like he is having trouble keeping up with the high stride rate. That might translate into less power onto the track, or at the very least an increase in braking forces. Anyone?
